HF-600A

Halogen-free flame retardant for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)

Overview:  HF-600A is a halogen-free, environmentally friendly flame retardant based on phosphorus and nitrogen. It fully complies with EU RoHS and REACH regulations. HF-600A provides excellent surface smoothness for molded parts and wires, strong resistance to exudation, outstanding water resistance, excellent migration resistance, superior electrical properties, and low smoke and low toxicity characteristics.

Specifically designed for thermoplastic polyurethane, HF-600A exerts its flame-retardant effect through both char formation and gas-phase mechanisms. TPU materials treated with HF-600A are suitable for:

• Power cables

• Communication cables

• Geological exploration cables

• Automotive cables

Depending on formulation and thickness, TPU with HF-600A can achieve flame-retardant ratings such as UL 94 V-0 (1.5 mm) and UL 1581 VW-1. HF-600A does not contain anti-drip agents. For injection-molded applications, customers may optionally add ~0.2% anti-drip agents (e.g., 3M TF 1645) as needed.
